How are you feeling after your first collegiate Indoor season?
I feel good and ready for outdoor. It was awesome to experience and be a part of a collegiate indoor season and compete with the best of the best.
What was your personal highlight moment of the season?
My personal highlight was winning the 200 meter Over All at the Pac-12s.
What are your goals for the rest of 2022?
To keep improving and keep shaving off time in my races and most importantly to stay healthy.
What made you choose to run for Arizona State University?
It was just a feeling that I can't explain. I knew Arizona State was the perfect place for me and that's where I was going to go, and also because of the coaching staff.
How has balancing school and track in college compared to high school?
It has been a lot harder compared to high school. In high school, homework did not take as long as it does now. College is no joke and the classes are demanding so it's been harder balancing track and school.
What does your weight training consist of and which exercise do you feel helps your running the most?
There's a lot of hang cleans for explosiveness and squats and deadlifts for power. I feel like squats help my running the most because you need powerful quads and glutes to carry you through your race.
What's the weirdest or funniest thing that ever happened to you while running?
A bug flew in my eye once and I was running with one eye closed.
What's your biggest pet peeve?
Really slow drivers that hold up traffic.
What's your biggest fear?
Failing and heights.
Who would you say is the funniest teammate?
Jamar Marshall, there is not one specific thing about him, he's just all around really funny.
In your free time when you’re not training for competing, what hobby’s do you enjoy?
I enjoy watching movies, doing my nails, going on hikes, and of course sleeping.
Who is someone you look up to in the sport?
Allyson Feilix, because she is such a strong woman that is successful in everything she does and has such an amazing poise about her that I strive for as an athlete and as a woman.
If you could compete in one Field event, which would you choose?
I would do pole vault if I wasn't so scared of heights but I think it's so cool how these athletes can just catapult themselves over these crazy heights just by pure strength and a pole. It amazes me and I would love to do it.
