After all that you accomplished, what drives you to continue running?
I have retired from running but when I was running I was driven by the desire to have fun while seeing how much I could achieve.
How do you motivate yourself on days when you don't feel like running?
When I was running I surrounded myself with a positive team. You can't always be the leader. Some days you need someone to lead you and having great training partners will keep you going.
On average, how many times and miles do you run a month?
I didn't track the amount of running when I was an athlete but it was basically 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. Now I exercise when I can.
What's the weirdest or funniest thing that ever happened to you while running?
I’ve got nothing.
What are your favorite types of fuel for running and why?
Food! I am supplement free and think it is the best way to be. Food that is not processed or packaged is the best kind of food for performance. If you can’t pronounce the ingredients do not eat it!
What's your favorite cheat food & drink?
Bacon and milkshakes.
Do you like ice baths? Why or why not?
No! I enjoy being warm, not freezing cold. But it is necessary to recover and continue to get great!
What's the most important tip you like to give new runners?
Know your body type and train appropriately. Every person is unique and so is the recipe to reach your best performance.
What is your favorite running accomplishment so far?
I don't have a single greatest running accomplishment. Every time I stepped on the track, as long as I gave it all I had, I was proud of that moment.
